After immigrating to America from Budapest, Hungary in 1916, Thomas Stoysich, Sr. spent 33 years working in the packing houses. In 1949, he was able to start his own business, a small neighborhood grocery store and meat market.
As the proprietor of Tom’s Market,
Thomas Stoysich served the Omaha community
diligently until his retirement in 1960, at which time he sold his Company to his son, Frank Stoysich.
Frank and his wife Marilyn ran the business from 1960 through 2011.
During the next 51-years Frank and Marilyn realized many successes, as the business consistently grew and the meat products grew in popularity with their Omaha customers. In later years, the business ‘crossed state lines’ and customers continue to travel from Colorado, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri to stock up on Stoysich’s Award Winning Meats.
Growth and change continued over the next two decades with various remodeling projects, the addition of meat counter space and new equipment purchases. In the summer of 1985, a small but modern processing plant was built
to accommodate the ever increasing demand for homemade sausage and smoked meats.
